Which airport should I use?
Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA) is the closest and most convenient airport. It is just a few minutes from downtown. Both Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI), and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) are also reasonable points of entry to Washington for the seminar, but they are significantly less convenient.

What kind of clothing should I bring?
When packing it is important to keep two things in mind: the dress code and the climate. For morning and afternoon dialogues in the Congress and at the Embassies, participants are required to follow a dress code. This means suits/sports jackets and ties for men, with nice dresses, suits or skirts with blouses for women. Also keep in mind that Washington’s climate, while generally mild, can go to extremes in the winter and summer. In addition, participants should bring an umbrella, especially in the summer when afternoon thundershowers are very common.

What type of supervision is provided for the students?
All seminars are conducted by the Director, Administrators, and full-time staff of experienced college graduates and underclassmen. This staff has a full and thorough knowledge of the program, its operation, and the subject matters under review. The counseling staff will reside with and be with the students throughout the week. Will I meet with my own Senator or Representative?
If you would like to meet with your Senators and/or House Representative during your visit to Washington, each office requires that the request come from the constituents directly. Please submit your request either via each Senator or Representative's respective website, or by faxing or emailing a request directly to either their office in DC, or their office in your state or district. Each office can be different, but we suggest you start with your local state or district office first. For more information on how to contact your senators or representative, please visit the following websites:  www.senate.gov or www.house.gov. Once you have made your initial inquiry we will be happy to assist you with confirming and organizing your final appointments for your Capitol Hill visit. Please feel free to contact our office if you have any questions or need assistance:  info@workshops.org or 800-368-5688.

Will I need to bring linens and/or towels?
No, the Washington Workshops will provide bed linens and towels upon your arrival. If you generally require more than one blanket, or you would like additional towels, you are of course welcome to bring them with you. However, it is very rare that you would need these extra items. Lastly, we do suggest footwear for the showers and hallways while in residence at our campus locations.
