The
National Student Advisory Committee (NSAC) consists of an annual membership of
students who have attended recent Workshops seminars. Each Fall we welcome new and continuing members to the Committee. The NSAC is committed to improving
seminars and developing an alumni network.
In a recent NSAC Conference held in Georgetown, alumni were invited to attend a themed weekend entitled "E-Government and E-Society: A symposium of the Washington Workshops." Students discussed the increasing integration of electronic participation of indivicuals in government and the ways in which technology is changing our society. Students also composed a model for future Workshops outreach.
Students also enjoyed a networking session with several former alumni and Workshops program administrators who offered advice on career, politics, and college admissions. As a unique bonding experience, students braved a high adventure course at YMCA Camp Letts near Annapolis, Maryland. Click this link to see the adventure unfold. Unique to our alumni affairs is an increasing number of Senators and Representatives in the United States Congress who attended Washington Workshops seminars during their high school years. This esteemed and growing assemblage includes: Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ), Congressman Mike McIntyre (D-NC) , Congressman Mike Ferguson (R-NJ), and Congressman Tom Price (R-GA) (former Georgia State Senate President). We hope some of today's alumni will soon join this distinguished list.
