All charges are completely refundable provided written notice is given to the Worskshops office no later than eight (8) weeks prior to the start of the tour session for which the student is enrolled.   • Five nights, six days—Sunday to Friday morning —College double occupancy college room accommodations or quad occupancy hotel suites, all air-conditioned
  • Breakfast and dinner each day
  • Charter bus transportation to all meetings and events
  • Materials packet for Model Congress plus special addition U.S. Congress Handbook
  • Workshops staff on duty at all times
  • Availability of 24-hour medical care at nearby hospital
  • Use of campus or hotel recreation facilities
  • Full liability and accident insurance in effect throughout each seminar session
  • The Washington Workshops staff has ample experience with the college admissions process and will be available throughout the seminar to discuss these matters with interested students. Students wishing to visit local schools should arrange to do so following the completion of the seminar.

*The seminar cost is fully refundable provided written notice is given to the Workshops office no later than four (4) weeks prior to the start of the scheduled seminar session. The $150 application fee is fully refundable if an application is rejected or seminar space is unavailable.

The Washington Internship Experience

The three week Washington Internship Experience cost is $3,750--each additional week is prorated. This cost includes full tuition, a Workshops staff member on duty at all times, breakfast and dinner each day, and transportation daily to and from Capitol Hill. This also includes a non-refundable application fee of $150.00. Incidental expenses, like weekday lunches, sundry purchases, and limited independent entertainment, are not included in the cost. The program begins June 15. Students may stay up to six weeks but the program will conclude July 26.

Extra Expenses

All tuition, room, and meal charges are included in the total seminar fee, with the exception of four inexpensive lunches in the Congressional and museum cafeterias. Incidental expenses, such as extra food, snacks, cab fare to and from airports, and personal shopping should be considered as separate and extra items. Note: regular family insurance policies usually provide full personal and health coverage for students attending programs away from home.

The $150 application fee is fully refundable if an application is rejected or seminar space is unavailable.

Financial Aid

Many students have received full or partial financial aid for program participation by approaching school and civic associations, such as the Chamber of Commerce, veterans’ groups, service clubs (including Kiwanis, Rotary, and Lions). Local businesses and corporations, through their public relations and community service offices, may offer sponsorship. A financial aid suggestion booklet is included with each acceptance letter.
