The Washington Workshops Foundation offers The Washington Internship Experience to motivated students interested in government and politics. The primary component of this Advanced Workshops Seminar is a three to six week internship in a Capitol Hill office (Congressional, political, committee, governor's), or a public policy office within the Washington D.C. downtown area. Students are also given the opportunity to conduct an in-depth study on legislative politics.
Students are housed at a nearby college campus with charter bus transportation arranged each day to and from Capitol Hill. The students are supervised throughout the program by a resident staff providing continuous attention and mentoring. The Washington Workshops also presents academic and leadership training tutorials to prepare students for their office responsibilities and ensure their academic development.
In 2008, participants
may begin the internship program any three to six week period starting Sunday, June
15 through Saturday, July 26. These dates coincide with the Congressional schedule. Students may also participate in any Congressional Seminar before beginning the internship.
